Gail Molzahn is a jewelry artist from Savannah, Georgia, who regularly spends time on the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau, where I live. Her bold, unique pieces include a dazzling array of materials: 19th century Czech glass used as trade beads in Mali, Sudanese trade beads that may be 1,000 years old; vintage Lucite; white jade, polished wood, suede, red spiny oyster shell, and African opal, just to name a few.
Molzahn’s statement: “You can see my love of natural elements, form and color in my designs. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind statement of wearable art. I view art as a force in everyday life and hope I inspire you to incorporate it into your own.” Amen!
